The Bayern director has nothing but praise for the winger as they prepare for the away game against Madrid
Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer has voiced his admiration for Arjen Robben ahead of Wednesday's Champions League semi-final encounter with Real Madrid and feels the Netherlands international is on par with players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
The 30-year-old has developed into a key figure at Bayern ever since joining the club from Madrid in the summer of 2009 and Sammer has stressed Robben deserves recognition for his fine performances.
"For me, Robben is at the same level as world-class players such as Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar," the Bayern director was quoted as saying by Sport Bild Plus.
"Arjen deserves nothing but respect for the way he performs year after year, in particular in big games.
"He is an unbelievable player and a great professional. Arjen is extremely important to Bayern.
"We rate him really highly. He is an undisputed superstar."
Robben has been in sublime form in 2013-14, netting 19 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga champions.
